Decade Photo Shoot: 1980s

“There's a notion I'd like to see buried: the ordinary person. Ridiculous. There is no ordinary person.”  - Watchmen (Published between 1986 and 1987)

1980s Photo Shoot: The day Katelyn learned that temporary tattoos aren't as temporary as we thought. She said hours of scrubbing left tiny flecks of tattoos all over. Whoops. When I was a kid, the pizza place by my house sold temporary tattoos in those little vending machines. During one summer, I wore them all the time. I even put glitter on the tattoos everyday to make them look even cooler. 10 year old Lauren, cooler than everyone else.

This was, HANDS DOWN, the most fun photo shoot we ever did. Katelyn had just Miley Cyrus'd her hair, so it was short enough to do a faux-hawk. It took pounds of gel, moose, and hair spray but it eventually stood up enough to take a few photos. We probably took 50 photos, just because it was so fun. The make-up, the fake tattoos, the Billy Idol snare, the attitude... It was just wonderful.

Disclaimer: That's make-up I stole from my mom. I don't need anyone thinking these are things that I wear.

- so I can sigh eternally -
