“But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.” - Brave New World (Published in 1932)
1930s Photoshoot: The day I learned that I hate the 1930s. This was the hardest shoot we did. Katelyn and I researched, we tried a billion different things... But for us, the 1930s seemed like a transition period. It wasn't the flapper era anymore, but they hadn't quite reached the Rosie the Riveter (spoiler alert?!) period. Everything we tried looked like the 20s or the 40s. Even looking for a book from the 30s that I liked was hard (I found one. It's up there. Also, suck it Agatha Christie). Going through the quotes from Brave New World reminded me of the angst and confusion that occurred in that book. It's pretty much how I felt doing this entire shoot. Don't judge us from this one shoot, pretty please?
Plus, the next two decades are going to blow your mind.
